I am a doctoral student in Information Science and Technology Program at
the School of Information Science,
University of Pittsburgh.
My current research interests focus on various kinds of recommender system, personalized information retrieval, trust-based information propagation, multi-faceted information retrieval, Web data mining, the cognitive and computational evaluation of information technology and intelligent tutoring system. Statistics and Quantitative methods are also important to me.
I am advised by Professor Peter Brusilovsky and
working at the Teaching And LEarning Research Lab (TALER) and
the Personalized Adaptive Web Systems Lab (PAWS).
I am currently working on several projects, mainly involve in 'Personalized Interactive Exercise for Database Courses.'
Other projects are to develop the cultural event recommender system, 'PITTCULT', job recommender system named
'Proactive' and
datashop for evaluation data of intelligent tutoring system.
I have a educational background in Information and Network Management and Information Science with
degrees from Sangmyung University
(Seoul, Korea) and Syracuse University (Centeral NY)
and professional experience from Samsung SDS Co. as a software engineer and
Jangan College as an invited professor.
I grew up in South Korea and lived in Seoul, Korea and Syracuse, NY before I moved to Pittsburgh.
I am interested in music, the fine arts and needleworks.
